I know this has probably been asked a thousand times but I tried searching and couldn't get anywhere. I am running XP on this computer and I wanted to upgrade my kids computer. Is there anyway to use the same XP disc? I have a legal copy that I purchased myself. I read somewhere that it cannot be done but it also said that it was supposed to change. So I don't know if it can be done or not. This is for my own personal use. It's an honest question, please be nice. Lol.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!:)

Unfortunately, you would have to purchase another copy of XP in order to install it on another computer. Each computer requires a different copy.

Each computer requires a separate license to activate. You can order another license from MS if you wish and reuse the same disc to install. The license must match the disc (no XP pro with a XP home license and vice versa). In the future, MS plans to drop the activation requirement when they drop support for XP.
