Win10's Firewall: Sufficiently "robust"?

Is Win10's firewall "robust", or would it be better to disable it and use something else?

I've found it to be fine and combined with a routers in-built firewall its good enough and really has been since Xp SP2 and when you delve into the advanced rules its really powerful, but you can always add an intrusion type based monitor like Glasswire which is an alternative option or addition.

I use the in-built Win10 firewall + my routers firewall with no issues, but issues arise due to malware on your system and if you have malware and you have given it outward access inadvertently then security risks arise, hence an intrusion type monitor like Glasswire, although the Windows FW does equally as well at blocking anything it doesn't know and alerting you so pay attention to any firewall messages and block anything you dont know what it is and then check.

Hi DavidGP, thanks for responding. I didn't realize that Windows' firewall had advanced settings, I'll look into that.

A quick glance shows that for Domain, Private & Public Profiles, Windows Firewall is on and inbound connections that don't match a rule are blocked, but outbound connections that don't match a rule are allowed. Should I block them too?

I also took a quick glance at the outbound connections rules, and I see that there's a mind-numbing plethora of cryptically-named rules. I'm afraid I just don't have the time to learn all about them. Any suggestions?

Most 3rd party firewalls block everything, and you then have to enable certain things to unblock them. Personally, I think MS has a decent software firewall.
