Win11 Command-line Global Smaller Font Size Setting?

Hi! I use the command line of Win11 often and want a small font size. I managed to decrease the font size of some command line programs but want the change for every such program. How can I do that?

Try Windows key + R to open a command window. Click on the down arrow on the right and select Settings. I do not know if changes made there will be persistent.

I believe I tried that except a different method of opening the command prompt but was only able to change the setting for two specific batch files. I'd better try Wimdows+R later today. :)

DangitallRedux, I just tried to open just the command prompt, and the font settings were good, but most batch files have a larger font size. :(

Try reading the article at the link posted above by @satrow. You might find what you're looking for there.

I just started reading it, but the changes I want are there already for the default, but I want them for a particular batch file. I'd better do it for the problem batch files specifically. :) BTW, I'm glad for the other information there. IIRC, I tried the colors before and liked them. :) I think I have a third-party command prompt with more colors but forgot its name. :(

Uhh...how do I change the colors used to display the text and background? I can change the color scheme but not the individual colors. :(

If you are asking about a command prompt window, right-click on the window's title bar and select 'Properties'. Have fun...and try not to break anything.

I tried that and got access to the settings to which I already had access. The most I got were dark and light themes. :(

Even though the image was pulled from Windows 10, a quick check of Windows 11 gives the same options. This has been consistent from at least Windows 98.

I was able to find that on Win7 but not Win11. :( I'm sorry for the stupid question, but how do I get there?

Open a command prompt window. Right-click on the window's title bar. Select 'Properties'.

I right-clicked the title bar and didn't see Properties, and Settings gave me what I already had. :(

This is not what you see?

    No. I see "settings."

Could you please post a screenshot/snip? I would like to actually see what it is that you're getting.

I attached a screenshot of the menu and one of what I found.

Whatever that is, it is not a command prompt window, so of course the instructions given - for what you were asking - would not work. I'm sorry, but it seems that I cannot help you with this.

It is the command prompt window--I just changed the background to a SMB3/NES screenshot, and the background window is something else. I used Greenshot to get the screen shots, and I think I pressed the wrong key to get the whole screen rather than just the active window.

Why does the menu bar say 'Tools', and why is the prompt not open at C:\WINDOWS\system32?

I used Win11/64's sort-of Start Menu and searched for "Command Prompt," and this is what I found. As for the open folder, it must be the default folder.

Is this a machine that you own? That is definitely not a Windows default command prompt window.

Yes, it is a machine I own. If this is not a command prompt, how do I get the command prompt?
