    Hi

Which AntiVirus application do you have and is it fully upto date?

As I have tested this download in Avast and AVG two common used AVs and its not finding any issues, sadly at times many AVs have false positives.

Since Microsoft never released SP5 for windows 2000 (I run it on three home computers), I'd be really suspicious of downloading anything that said it was SP5.

It is always better to go directly to Microsoft to get ALL updates.

if you put 2000 into the box, you can download any and all updates for your OS. If you click the date heading you can sort from newest to oldest. Click again and you can sort from oldest to newest.

I couldn't agree more. When I saw the title of the thread said "SP5" in reference to Win2000, I knew something was up. I'm thinking it may be one of those "unofficial service packs" that people throw together and upload to P2P sites and other file-sharing sites. As stated above, I'd be very suspicious of such "service packs". As a side note, any non-Microsoft updates should be considered unnecessary and potentially dangerous unless they are like an RVM pack which includes all Microsoft updates bundled into one download. But the RVM packs clearly list the details of the pack contents and have a solid reputation and are well known through-out the web world.

EDIT- I was just thinking.... USP5.1 most likely stands for Unofficial Service Pack. BEWARE :eek
