How do i stop windows of making this file ?

I know what it is, i dont need it, i have 512 ram, ALL I WANT TO KNOW IS HOW TO STOP WINDOWS FROM MAKING THE FILE. It started to make the file after using the stupid symantech system optimizer

 

Even with plenty of RAM, a computer will still use the swap file to keep things moving along more smoothly.

That being said, you can get to your 9.x swap file settings in the Control Panel, System, and on the performance Tab there is a virtual memory button to play with.

Hope you're sure you know all the ins and outs of playing with this little MS toy.

line in system.ini under [386Enh].

ConservativeSwapfileUsage=0

Work for win 9.X only.

No more swap files.unless no more memory available.

 

Some programs will refuse to run without a swap no matter how much ram you have.

 

Just a remark: ConservativeSwapfileUsage has to be set to "1" to make Windows use as much physical ram before activating the swap file. "0" is Windows' default. (as in, you added the option but didn't activate it)
