Win7/64 Laptop Progress Report

Hi! I finally got administrator access to my Win7/64 laptop at my day program thanks to all of your help. Unfortunately, the computer stopped working today. It's been having problems over the past few days, including lock-ups and displaying garbage. Now, it's not starting up at all.

 

It's starting up but displaying nothing but lines.

 

I just got a new Win7/64 laptop for program. Same first problem as the previous: I don't have the Administrator's password. I have a CD I can use to fix it thanks to you guys here, but, when I boot from it, it didn't boot from the CD, and, when I try to access it from WIndows, I got a Media is Dirty error. I was able to access it long enough to read the readme file which suggested a way to create a boot drive, but the flash drive I used didn't boot. The next time I go to my mother's house, I should be able to get another CD-ROM. I have to wait.

 

Does it have secure boot? enabled?

 

I don't know what secure boot is. I'm sorry.

 

look in the BIOS, if it is enabled, turn it off, then try to boot the CD.

 

Sorry for the long delay. It is s Dell model Latitude D630. How do I enter the BIOS settings?

 

The Dell Latitude D630 does not have a secure boot feature. I know as I have one running Win7

 

I was able to get the Administrator password deleted. I had to press F12 at bootup and select the CD option. Thank you for your help.
