    Greetings

I`ve just upgraded to Win7 64bit Ultimate 6 weeks ago and all of a sudden Firefox won`t load pages yet I can can use Internet Explorer 64bit version, although there is no compatable version of FlashPlayer for 64bit.

My Internet connection is fine, have no Malware or other bugs on my system.
I`ve reset my Hosts File, Flushed DNS cache, tried to connect to sites using IP adresses.

I`ve tried other Browsers - Avant,Maxthon,Safari,Google Chrome,Slim Browser, and Opera with out any luck.

There appears to be many Win7 64bit users facing this problem when I google my issue, though no solutions.

I am not a fan of Internet Explorer, hence my Frustration.

Could someone please help/advise me if their is a way around this issue or is Win 7 not as great as I initially thought ?
    Thanks in advance.

Well, i didn't tested 7x64 yet, im using 7 32bit and works fine, some bugs nothing so hard as you have.

I must recognize 7 is a good O.S, but that's the problem to be fanatic of the new stuff "bugs and new problems"

So, you have a problem trying to see websites, but i want to know some things.

    1. If you do ping, it works?
    2. Any error re-installing the IE 64x Version?

We must difference "conectivity to display a website", are two different problems.

You could try uninstalling IE, and checking the complements installed.

Tell us how is going on!

That's good at least you have connectivity and the adapter is working.

    Now tell me the option closer to your problem;

1 (>'.')> When you open the IE (Internet Explorer) recieve some error or advice?

    2. I try to open I.E but, nothing happens it just doesn't initialize.

    3. <('.'<) If you can open IE, and type for example http://www.google.com:

    a) You recieve an error
    b) Just nothing happens the webpage still in blank
    c) IE Crashes and close

IEx64 works fine (I am using it now) but not IEx32

My Firewall is not blocking anything and is configured correctly

Firefox 3.6 opens but does not load any pages (Problem/Error loading Page)

Opera says I have no connectivity same with other browsers I try

I see so your problem is only with other navigators like Chrome and Mozilla, so IE 64x is working fine huh?

Well, with Chrome you could right click in the Shortcut and Propierties

add this at the end of the path: —in-process-plugins

    like C:\program files\.... —in-process-plugins

For Mozilla i didn't found any solution, you will must wait for the 64x version in 7.

    Cheers tell me if works!

    Hi

When you say "upgraded" was this a new PC with x64 Win7 installed by defualt or was this and upgrade from Vista x64?

Ah yeah Adobe are dragging their heals with an x64 version of Flash, a beta is avaibale but only to testers at present, no public beta is around.

First off try Firefox in its Safe Mode, you can find it in the same Start folder as the normal version or type in the Start Search box Firefox and it will list, if it works then you have a plugin or add-on issue, however this shouldnt affect the other browsers especially Opera as its a different engine.

    1. Boot into Safe Mode (F8 at boot and choose Safe Mode with Networking) see how you go with any browsers you have installed?
    2. Disable your Antivirus and Firewall, even goto the trouble of uninstalling it and see if that helps, do also tell us what Antivirus, Firewall and any and all other security applications you are using?
    3. Try the steps HERE
    4. Uninstall your Firefox version (what version is it btw?) and then run CCleaner and ist Cleaner and Registry options, run the Registry one until nothing is listed for removal, then install a beta of Firefox [Fx] called Minefield from HERE (I run this and its stable and much quicker than the general release of Fx but like all betas could cause issues) Mozilla do have a native x64 version now of Minefield but its a tad buggy for now, so I have linked you to the x86 version and see how you go.
    5. Reset your router to default settings, then re-add any you need from your ISP to get online and if a WiFi one then add the WiFi encryption back.
    6. Try this and open an elevated CMD prompt (click Start and type in the Start Search Box CMD, then right click CMD and Run as Administrator) then type or copy and paste this line, do make note of spaces etc

and hit enter, then reboot and try the net again.

In the majority of cases, its a 3rd party application at fault and not Windows, just easier to blame Windows, I have 5 systems with a mix of 32bit and 64 bit Win7 and all running IE, Firefox, Opera, Flock ok.

    You did this:

    `C:\Users\Silver\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome-in-process-plugins.exe

    Try this:

    C:\Users\Silver\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome -in-process-plugins.exe

    or

    C:\Users\Silver\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome --in-process-plugins.exe

    And try without ' ' or "

    And read this

    http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Chrome/thread?tid=5e27284b0e5b6d10&hl=en

Lines works (is about ype them correctly), is a temporally solution mean you find the 3rd program that's making troubles.

    Greetings Halo & itmoritz

My laptop came with Win7 Home Premium installed, 4GB Ram, but only 3GB available(32 bit) Yes I was Greedy, gimme my 4GB thankyou.

So I decided to buy Win 7 Ultimatex64. Had the coin back then.

I wanted the 4GB ram available on my L/Top for CAD apps and Gaming.

So I whacked 64 on top. Got my drivers from windows.old Search etc Easy to Install

OK. I now have the 4GB.

I now proceeded to rid my machine of all the crap Hewlett Packard thought I needed.

p.s. How would one uninstall IE?

6 weeks later here I am at Major Geeks.

Me thinks I screwed up badly.

If I need to re-install (yes I have backed up) much data etc/CAD settings are GONE regardless

Is it possible to revert back to 32 bit now?

What I Have Learnt --> (1) Don`t Blame Microsoft for ones IT in-experience.
    (2) There still is no solution for this issue, my PC and all other apps are running fine, IE is my default browser and thats it.

    Thanks Halo & itmoritz.

Why you haven't connectivity??? You had a few days ago what happened? Take care about therms, connectivity is unable to ping any internet or local site.

And other problem is display a website correctly.

I saw u did ping before and it worked, tell me what you did
