    Hello everyone,
My friend's mother had a laptop that went bad and guess who they called to try to fix it.

It is a Win7 laptop and it will not boot into Windows. All it does is reboot.
After asking what she did before the computer went bad, she said that she was online and click something and must have got a virus by doing so.

I tried booting into safe mode and it will not let me.
I have tried Avira Anti-Virus repair 2 times, it came up with some trojans, deleted them, but after second time did not fix the problem.
Tried running Avira boot sector repair tool, said the boot sector was OK.

I really do not want to re-install windows and take the easy way out.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,

Do you have an installation or repair disc for Win7? Is the laptop running 32 or 64bit Win7? If you don't know give the make/model of the laptop so we can find out.

Does F8 bring you to Advanced/Safe Mode options? If it does then is Repair Computer option available to get to command prompt?
