I just picked up a new Win7 Pro (64Bit) computer and I am having problems getting it to see all the computers in the Workgroup.

I have read a bunch of stuff online and tried everything, but nothings seems to work. My last try is to take every computer (30+ in 3 bracnhes) down at the same time so that the bad mojo is released.

I think my problem started when I tried to rename my old computer CAD1 and my new computer CAD. My old computer was CAD.

If I manually map a drive (\\192.168.1.61\C$) - I can get in without a problem. If I look at the Network, it doesn't show anything but my own computer.

Now I did have some wacky things happen -

Day 2 of new computer - After a reboot, everything showed up. All computers were there, but they only lasted a few hours, then I noticed they were gone again.

Day 5 of new computer - 2 computers show up in Network. Again, after a few hours, they were gone.

I have tried a few reboots, but nothing has changed.

I have Network Discovery ON, along with Printer/File Sharing.

Does anyone have any other suggestions, or will taking down the entire system do the trick?

    Thanks,
    Jonathan

    NM....I fixed it.

It seems my Symantec Endpoint Protection was blocking all IP traffic. I turned that off and everything showed up.
