WIN8 Metro tiles will not work

All my WIN8 Metro tiles including the Store have stopped working. When I click on them, they open and immediately shut down. I did Google this and have tried all recommended fixes....wsreset, App troubleshooter. I even have spoken with Microsoft and all they want to do is a restore to original! I use this laptop for work and have numerous work apps installed. I am thinking it is internal MS security related, but have not been able to isolate.
If anyone has any resolution, PLEASE pass along. I am trying to avoid a refresh or restore.

First off, you do not need to post your email address, because no one is going to personally email you what to do.

As for the problem, you need to post any error logs, from Administrative Tools > Event Viewer. Also need to know what third party Anti-Virus/Internet Security software you are using.

Hi Steve

Is your version of Windows 8 the original or the 8.1 update? can check this by right clicking HERE

Did you install any software before this started to happen and if so what? (have you any Start Menu replacement application installed eg. Start8)

When you run the apps troubleshooter did it highlight any issues at all?

Is your laptops screen resolution at 1024x768 (check by right clicking the desktop and choosing screen resolution) as Metro apps will not run unless the screen resolution is that that or higher.

What security software have you installed and check to see if their is an option in the anti-virus menu to make apps trusted.

Does your PC have an ATI graphic card by any chance? if so untick in the Catalyst Control Centre the Morphological Filtering in the Gaming section, reboot and test.
