Win98: Best Command-line Archiver?

    Hi! I have a Win98 computer that's very low on free drive space and, thanks to previous help here, got the idea to compress programs using 7Zip and on-demand and temporarily decompress them for use. However, 7Zip doesn't work properly: the computer crashes half-way through the re-compression process. Is there another command-line utility to compress information with the following features?:

    * LZMA or LZMA2 technique on .7z files (or at least a comparable technique)
    * speed
    * compression and decompression

    you can always compress the entire hard drive and create some space that way - the only downfall to this is it will make your system a little slower than before.
