    Hi.

I have 98SE in a pretty new machine. P4533Asus etc. Lots of stuff that works good.

I have recently discovered a couple programs like TaxCut and an HP printer Install disk that "demanded" a higher version of IE than the 6.0.26 128 bit that I have been using. (Presumably to download parts of the driver files, or in TaxCut, undates and state tax proggys.) Then it aborts any installation.

I tried to find a higher version, presumably a 6.+ version of IE, but nothing at MS, of course, and nothing in familiar "tucows" type places.

Am I / Are we stuck with having to try and upgrade to XP, or most new software of hardware won't install??

I hope it's a stupid question, and I hope it has a simple answer, OR even more better...

A solution that doesn't require junking the best OS I've found for all the apps I need to do from recording/mixing music to court briefs/finances.

    Thanks for any reply.

    EJL

98/me are not supported by ms any more, thus ie7 which is the newest browser hasnt' been designed to work with win98, your out of luck. This also means theres no security updates for any new flaws.
