Win98SE Run-time error

Hi,
Have downloaded Start Up Mechanic from MG. When I cilck to open I get the following:Run-time error '429' .ActiveX componant can't create object. Went to Microsoft Win98 and followed directions for this error but,as usual, prob. remains.I did not have this before the download and have not used CD ROM for about 4dys. Any help would be appreciated. TY.

Specs: Win98SE, IE6.0, Ram192, Hard Drive10GB, Firewall Jetico, Virus Scanner AVG Free Ed., All Security and Malware Progs. as per MG Specific Spyware Tutorials. Maintainance/Updating of all progs.done on a weekly basis.

TY for reply.I have uninstalled it and then did a fresh reinstall. I have not left it uninstalled. I have also done a new download, just just for safety. TY again.

No, I thought the problem was a bad download. I only get this prob.when i click on StartUp Mechanic.No other time. Thank You again for replying.

Hi,
I am afraid we may be missunderstanding each other here. When I uninstall it I do not get this error. By the way since I last posted I "Googled the error" and there is a lot in there re "run time errors" but I cannot decide which one is for me. Thank You for your patience.
