Win98se System/drivespace: Annoying Screen Blanking While Compressing Disk

Hi! I have an issue that's a major annoyance: when compressing a Zip disk using DriveSpace, the screen blanks. At first, I thought the system locked up but then realized that the screen blanked as a screen saver. I had a similar issue at a day program recently: I realized that a computer there appeared to not be accepting key ring scans because a lock screen was blocking the display: it actually was working; it was just not showing it. The same thing sometimes happens on my Win11/64 laptop. I'm just saying....
