Winamp 2 series

I've been using winamp2 (always updating to latest version) to sort and play my mp3's, but recently its been giving me trouble.

Whenevr i open winamp, it creates copies of whatever files i had loaded in the playlist. If i start with 1 file, close and open winamp, there will be 2 of the same file. close and open again = 4 f that file....so on and so forth.

I can reload the list and fix it no problem...but still annoying.

btw I usually load my full list (20GB), so i thought that might be causing it with too many files, but thats not the case.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, no luck...any ideas?

hey,

in the directory where you'reloading your mp3s from, do you have any playlists as well? Something I used to do was just select everything in the directory to load up, and it turned out I forgot there were playlists in the directory, so not only would winamp load every mp3 into the playlist, but it would also add the contents of everyplaylist and therefore I would have redundancies appear.

Another possibility is to grab winamp v3. But I can understand if you don't want to, it's really become bloatware, especially with video support and takes longer to load up than winamp v2. But whatever works.

as far as winamp 3 goes, even though it has a feature that eliminates "doubles", i miss the winamp 2 interface and simplicity, since all i use it for is music...of course eventually i will have to use 3, but i'd like to put that off for as long as possible
