Winamp 5 Full Is Out....

simply fantastic program... loads much faster and is less of a resource hog than winamp 3 (wasabi player) which was on a different platform...

i recommend downloading DrO's "Jump To File" plug in, which lets you enqueque songs like in Winamp 3.... the Milk Drop visualizatin plug in is quite trippy as well =]


anyone else toting winamp 5 yet?

 

Hey, even in it's alpha state it was better than 3.0 Way faster. Used 2.xx till this came out.

 

The new version is awesome! It has my highest recommendation!

Ya, just got it today, pretty dang nice program, I'm kinda new to the whole thing though, I gotta newbie qquestion for ya, what does the enque button do???

 

It's on the home page

 

it adds that file to your current playlist without playing it or removing any of the other files in that playlist, just like it adds it to you playlist

enqueque is simply selecting songs to play in a sequential order... it's a great feature if you want to make a quick playlist and leave the computer.... no more dragging and dropping songs the hard way

 

Okay, I have a bit of a problem here...

Why can I not utilize the coolness of winamp 3 skins in winamp 5?

Is there something that I missed? Should I be able to do this?

 

only winamp 3 skin i use is the MMD3 skin, i just copied it from my old winamp 3 folder and put it in the skins folder for winamp 5, restart winamp and u should be able to apply...

i'm currently using a winamp 2 skin, spyamp

Can this latest release play licensed WMA tracks of the sort purchased from BuyMusic.com? I've found only a few players other than WMP that can handle the licensing scheme.

Damn that skin borked winamp....crashed upon opening! Refused to load until I removed JRS from my skins folder! UGGH!

That's ok I have a few classic skins I like:
FusionAMP
nucleo NLog
and several OU skins!

 

that's odd that you are having so much trouble with the skins... did you install over previous versions of winamp? i would recommend maybe uninstalling all instances of winamp and doing a fresh install with winamp 5...


either that, or try downloading the skins to a separate location and then manually dragging them into your skins folder, closing winamp 5, and then try applying them upon reopening it...

btw what does AVS stand for? Audio Visual something??? =]


i don't view media files with my winamp but i'm sure enjoying the milkdrop visualation... it has all the Geiss visualizations within it... also a cool looking one titled "Smoke"...
