Winamp AC3 .avi problem

I have .avi files that are encoded with AC3 and when playing in Winamp have a constant ticking sound for the audio. I never had this problem on my previous HD. I have KLite Codec pack installed. I went and got AC3Filter from ac3filter.net and I went and got this winampac3 from sourceforge. I installed them and still have this problem. I tested in WMP and the audio works fine. I don't want to use any other player because Winamp is my player. Something is not not configured right or is missing. Please help me out.

First thing that comes to mind is to uninstall/reinstall Winamp - make sure you've got a reputable download: Full or Lite...

I have uninstalled and reinstalled WINAMP and still encounter the same problem. I have no idea why this is. I tried Winamp 5.24, 5.5, did full installations. This sound when trying to play AC3 .avi files is so maddening. Can anyone help? Trying an install of the AC3 filter itself, it said to reboot, will report back...

 

Totally did not work, downloaded another AC3 plugin, no results. Have no idea why I have this crackling ticking sound constantly.
