I have been using winAVI for the past weeks to help clear out some space in my PC: burning old videos and the such into DVDs. However, I've been having some problems with converted files recently so I uninstalled the program... but when I dl/d the program to reinstall it gives me the following warning:

Unable to execute file in the temporary directory.
Setup aborted. Error 5: Access is denied

I AM logged on in an administrator account and theres enough disk space in my hard drive (over 16GB)... Any ideas on why I cant access the installer?

does you have free enough disk space?

Yeah in the HD where my OS is installed I have 16 free GB... in the other I have 30 free GB...

Before posting in this forum I installed Dial-a-fix and used it to repair permissions on my PC just in case that was the problem... so its just the WinAVI installer that wont open...

is it in Zip when you dl'd the file?

No... I dl/d it from the author's site and it comes directly as an .exe file... I tried dl it from other sources, but with the same result...

Try emptying your temp files or where ever it unpacks to, then try again.

Thank you guys for all your input, I figured out what was wrong... :D

For those of you who may have this problem later on, and may be reading this to get some help:
    1. Make sure you are in an account with administrative capability
    2. Make sure you have enough disk space in the HD where your OS is installed
    3. Delete your temp files (Go to: Run > type in %temp% > Ok > Delete what you can)
    4. Run CCleaner
    5. If you still have problems, then install Dial-a-fix and repair permissions (option is in Tools)
[*]If all this fails --> disconnect from the net, exit your firewall (ZoneAlarm Pro in my case) and try opening the installer again. For some reason, your firewall may be blocking access to the program. After installing, reboot and reconnect

    Hope this helps! :)
