Window Error Reporting

I got a new computer a few months ago. My old computer was about six years old and it just couldn't keep up with the new games coming out.

Anyway; it has Win 8.1 64 bit ran on an i5 chip.

One of my favorite programs is Flight Simulator X with a few addon planes. I was able to get all the addons to work except for one; LevelD 767. I went through their forums and found that they are not going to support the Win8 program.

I did find one person gave a solution that worked on his computer. He said he disabled the window service reporting system and his addon works great. Of course LevelD said they won't support that fix because it changes Windows.

I searched in the forums here and found a thread about turning off the WerSvc. But it did not say if there were any problems with doing that or if it is a good thing to do.

Can anyone tell me the good, bad and ugly of turning off WerSvc?

You can turn it off in the action center. It should be the same as in Windows 7.

Thanks for the reply. So there is no adverse issue with turning it off?

 

Not really, it just won't collect error reports and offer to send them to Microsoft.
