Leave them alone. They allow you to uninstall any windows updates. But of course, why would you want to uninstall windows updates. Just incase I'd leave them alone, don't even go there.

If your not short of HD space then I would leave them alone as they are the only way that you can uninstall an update or hotfix that may cause a problem at some point.

Hello, I tried to find more info on this in other threads, but no luck, so I'll jump in on this one, because it it the closest one I could find to my situation. I am running WXP Pro with all updates and the update folders are cramping my HD space. I have plenty of space on my PC, but I have the OS on a 9.4 GB partition and the Service Pack and Update folders are filling it up. I have 2 other 10 GB partitions on this HD and another 120 GB HD. What can I do with these files to free up some room on my Windows partition as I think this is affecting my Virtual Memory/pagefile.sys?

Someone with a better idea than mine, will probably step in to help, but couldn't you burn them to a CD/DVD and / or copy them to your 120gbyte HDD, to move them, but keep them handy.

Experts, please let me (and Ray) know if this is OK, or have I put my foot in my mouth, again.:D Bazza

PS: Better to start your own thread in future. Baz

Check out thread http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=89939 for a reason as to why the M$ updates may have to stay where they are. Reading this thread, just now, it appears as though M$ check these out to see what has already been installed, so as not to download / try to install, them again. Sorry Bazza.

PS: I wanted to shift / delete mine also. Experts, please step in. Baz
