Window media player 10

Got the file sharing all figured out with help from her and it now works and I can finally transfer files from my old desktop to the laptop. Now I have a different issue in regards to playing on media player in terms of that I have transferred some saved tv shows that played and still play on my desktop media player but on my new laptop I only get sound and a black screen with a green wavy thing(i.e. the file is there but it will not show the video portion and I do not understand why as I do know that this file works on my desktop)

The files are HDTV.XviD types and even when you open the folder it does not show the pics of the show like normal but rather the window's media player symbol.

what do you mean by saved tv shows ?

You recorded them on your computer ?

You are missing a codec.

Probably xVid

OR DivX

 

It is a torrent that I had downloaded before on my desktop and I had never gotten to watching much of the season of the show. I can still watch it on the desktop but I would like to be able to watch as well on the laptop.

It works on the xVid player. How do I make media player work to watch it.

 

Sorry on the DivX player. Havig some issues at the moment with the xVid player. I downloaded the file xvidcore-1.1.0.zip and I have winZip but I do not know what to do after I have opened it in winZip.

 

As the file is probably copyrighted and you are probably breaking the law having downloaded it I am afraid I cannot help any more. We cannot condone the downloading of stolen or copied material whether it be music, file or tv using torrent or p2p software.
