I recently did a clean install of window xp professional on my main hardrive, I have 3 SATA and 1 Ide drive that I used to use, and plan on reusing.
Window XP starts fine with my main HD with Window XP, but when I plug in my other drives, window will start with saying that there is disk problem, then proceed to recover lost file on the other drives, until now there is insufficent disk space, and continue to do that on my other drives.
And if I skipped them, then window will start normally with my desktop showing, but then restart and freeze at the bio trying to find my IDE drives.

Another problem is some game that I used to try to play, it will start, the screen will turn dark as if it's starting, then it will jump back to desktop as if nothing is wrong, the game works fine on my desktop, and I reinstalled Direct X and my Nvidia card driver to no effect.

    For my first problem
I am planning on running my Main HD and one of the drive at a time later this afternoon, to see if it is one of the Hardrive having problem or something.
And since there are file that I wish to save on them, I don't really want to have to format these drives.
But if anyone has any idea, I'm willing to try them.
    Thanks for helping.

And what are the must have app?
I used to use for spyware
AVG spyware, Spybot search and destroy, and Ad-adware and A-squarded.
    C&C cleaner
    and Perfect disk for defrag.
Is there any recommended app for disk health etc?

And the problem seems to be the other IDE driver, and now it see's all my SATA drive as unformated, is there anyway to fix that?

    Any idea?
I origionally got some of the drive back no idea how, they just suddenly become viewable, but after I tried to update to window xp service pack 2, but my pc restarted, so I had to reinstall window again, and now cannot see them again.
