window update

how can you tell what update the pc is stuck on?the computer I am working on says when you go to shut it off that it has some updates on it even though it has not been hooked up to internet and even if you let it go through the install cycle the next time you turn it on it says the same any clue?

the updates maybe in process of downloading to your computer ,let it finish when your on the internet.the updates are in the add/remove programs will let u know what updates there is.

 

Perhaps the 2 posters above missed this in the OPs thread:

I think that (obviously) something has gone awry wtih Windows Update. Download Dial-A-Fix. When you run it, check all the boxes in the Windows Update section, and in the SSL section (you can actually just check everything if you want), then reboot. Dial-A-Fix looks scary and intimidating, but it is 100% safe as it does not install or remove anything. It just checks the status and re-registers files already on your PC. If DAF doesn't help, browse to C:\Windows and to C:\Windows\System32 and rename both Software Distribution folders to "SD-old" or something similar. Then reboot. If anything goes wrong, you can always rename the folders back to their original names....

hey dlb did what you told me but the update come back as soon as I restarted the computer what is another thing I can try?
