    Greetings,
I have just downloaded the above iso file. Should I mount it and then click on setup?

It would mean I wouldn't have to worry about BIOS boot order if I were to create a bootable USB with rufus.

    Many thanks,
    s.

If it isn't showing yet in Update and Security and if you have a decent connection you can just run it directly from HERE. You can continue using your comp while it updates.

    Thank you both of you,
I downloaded the iso this morning. Helping out a neighbour whose laptop was in need of attention.
I did convert it into a bootable USB and sorted out his machine. I did a fresh install onto a new SSD. The Boot order 1 HD 2 CD 3 USB. It ran perfectly and rebooted correctly. No problem.

My concern is if I change the BIOS order on my desktop I will have to place the USB above the HD.
When it reboots during the update process will it skip the BIOS order and restart correctly?

Apologies for asking a stupid question.
It was this concern that made me think of mounting the ISO file and running the setup.exe file from the mounted folder.
    Best wishes,
    s.

You can usually override the BIOS boot order by pressing F8 at power on, and boot to USB that way. The process knows which device to reboot to so no worries about the BIOS boot order messing things up.

Unfortunately F8 or F10 doesn't work for Boot order. F2 takes you to change the BIOS settings.
It will boot from USB before the SSD if I leave the Boot order the way it is.
I could put the DVD drive to the top of list followed by the SSD and use plop to boot up from USB.

I think I better make a backup before I start...

    Greetings again,
Just to let you know that I have now upgraded to the fall creators version.
When I booted up with the USB drive I was informed by the Windows installer that there were compatibility problems and it told me to run the setup.exe file from within windows. I have an old motherboard...
I then rebooted the desktop and mounted the ISO file. From which I ran the setup file and it worked.

Of course I did backup my OS drive before attempting anything.

My question was worth asking even though it turned my status from Specialist to Sergeant.

    Best wishes,
    s.
