Windows 10 On Screen Keyboard Problem

I had been running Win 8.1 on a new PC and found that I had persistent problems with the On Screen Keyboard appearing on the desktop at Start Up until I cleared it with the X button. I have now been using Win 10 Home for a couple of weeks and of course it copied everything over from 8.1 including the on screen keyboard. I have tried various cures to prevent the keyboard showing at Start Up but it is still there. I have just checked a couple of more settings i.e. 'ShowTabletKeyboard' is Disabled in the Registry and the On Screen Keyboard is set to OFF in the 'Ease Of Use' setting. Does anyone know of any further things I can try as it is driving me up the wall! I have seen on the internet that many people are having exactly the same problem.

I had used Windows XP for many years and was a bit reluctant to have to go for Windows 8.1 after all the dodgy comments I read about it in the media. I recently purchased a new PC with 8.1 pre installed and was not too impressed. Everything that was easy to use in XP I found was now more difficult. Names of some facility's had been unnesasarilly changed etc.etc. As I got more used to 8.1 though I decided to try Windows 10. I have found that 10 is a bit easier to use than 8.1 so have now decided to keep it and not use the option of reverting to 8.1. I would definitely recommend anyone who has doubts about Windows 10 to go for it particularly if they have been using 8/8.1.

Many thanks for any further tips permanently disabling the On Screen Keyboard.

All I can think of is there might be a shortcut to the On-screen Keyboard in the Startup folder. Also check the Startup tab in msconfig (System Configuration). Hopefully Windows 10 users will post more possibilities.

At startup, on the sign in screen, there are four icons lower right. Rightmost is power and next to it is an icon that looks like a clock at 3 o'clock. On that you will find ease of use options so check that the on-screen keyboard is off.

Thanks Earthling and Eldon for tips but still no cure to this pesky On Screen Keyboard problem! If and when I find a cure I will of course post it here for others with the same annoyance!

Right-click the Taskbar and point on Toolbars. If you see Touch Keyboard, uncheck it.
