I have no idea what to search for, as both issues above have hundreds of threads for each, so finding for both is difficult.
Basically randomly, usually once every few days, My sound will shut off and the start button/ search windows bar become innactive to left clicks. I can still right click start so i restart pc and all is well. But I can't work out what is up.

The bizzare thing with the sound is that it disables the stereo channel only it seems. Once i had headphones plugged in and it directed the sound there, so i disabled the headphones and it directed the sound to my TV(forgot the cable for pc to tv). And disabling that it directed the sound output to 2 unused realtek channels. Nothing i could do would force it back into stereo.

If you need additional info i can try to answer, but any help is appreciated as it's just a pain when it happens.

If this was an upgrade from 7 or 8.1 then irritating problems in 10 are commonplace. If it's practical you could reset your PC keeping your files but you would need to reinstall your own software. Alternatively you could use Microsoft's Media Creation Tool to perform a clean install.

Sorry but unable to help with your specific problems.
