    Hi guys,
Sorry this is my first post so I am not massively sure on what to post, or even call my post here it goes. So I have a HP pavilion 15 laptop, it was on windows 8.1 before and I have done the free upgrade to windows 10, activated then did a fresh install as I took the upgrade as a chance to start fresh. Unfortunately, after the fresh install my wireless strength was always so weak on my laptop and some times it couldn't connect to my wireless router because it was too weak. After a bit of thinking and talking to some one I know, we decided to install the wireless driver for the windows 8.1 operating system, and sure enough it worked brilliantly straight away. Now though, as I discovered last night around exactly a day after we installed the 8.1 driver, it changed to the windows 10 one as the signal went down and it started dropping. So basically after all that what I really want to ask is if there is a way I can get it to not update my driver to the one it thinks works, because it doesn't. I am windows 10 home if that has anything to do with it. Sorry for it being so long winded. I am fairly good with tech and am usually the one solving problems, not asking about one. My friend recommended this site so here I am ! Thanks guys :)

    Thanks Adrynalyne!

Just ran the file shown on the website (troubleshooter to hide/show updates) and the wireless driver was shown there right at the top so selected it and now its hidden, thanks for such a quick reply aswell! Can I just stick with this driver or is it best to try it out in a few months to see if its working?

Once again, thanks for the response.

    Microsoft.
In theory a new driver or fix will automatically download and install.

    Hi Guys,

Yesterday afternoon the driver must have re installed yet again. I don't understand how though and it was in the afternoon, definitely not when I fixed the driver. Could it be a new fix that still doesn't work?
