Windows 11 Background Tasks

I'm having a few issues since having to re-install Win 11 Pro on my Dell XPS 8960.
I was having a look around the system and noticed the following yesterday. In Process Explorer there were 62 instances of chrome.exe running and 93 instances of svchost.exe!! I didn't have much open on my desktop. Is this normal?

I'm trying to reduce the bloat on Win11 and remove things that clog the system so onwe thing I did the other day in Chrome was disable the Continue Running Background Apps when Google Chrome is Closed setting. It doesn't seem to have had the desired effect.

svchost.exe is normal

but 62 instances of chrome not normal.
