I've got this laptop with 2000 installed on it and when the system loads I get small "loading screens" for windows or any micrsoft product. The icons in my toolbars and in the start menu are super small. the basic Small/ Large Icon option doesn't make a real difference.

What should I look for to change this setting.

Which small/large icon configuration did u change?

If u change the one in the start menu, it only changes the start menu as in the menu that comes out, not the start menu toolbar thing...

    Ok check it,

The laptop has everything, it seems, set to the oddest/ smallest setting or the display is just plain out wrong. What Do I need to do to reset display settings for the whole laptop?

If I'm understanding you right, on the desktop area right click and select Properties (or Start/Settings/Control Panel/Display). Click on the Settings tab and adjust the Screen Area and/or click on Advanced and select the font settings.
