How do I modify the access of a folder in Win2K to only allow users to read the files and not copy? I have issues with users stealing my files.

even if you could stop them from copying the file, they could still copy the content and make a new file.

that is what i was afraid of. I am assuming that this would be the case with audio files as well huh? The files that are getting ripped off are kareoke files off a DJ setup a friend of mine installed in a bar.

that's a bit different. First thing I would do is disable all avenues for removable media.
No USB: disable via the BIOS.
Password protect the BIOS so they can't easily access and enable USB.
Floppy isn't a big deal because it only holds 1.38 MB of data.
Disable internet access so they can't mail, ftp or otherwise send the file to themselves via a network connection.

    NO cd burner.

What is your understanding of how they are accessing the machine and stealing the files?

If I am correct, the individual responsible is an employee of the bar who was running the equipment for my friend. Who is now attempting to start up his own kareoke business.
