    Hey people,

I have a question about permissions. I'm trying to reduce access to a folder on the network. I have the permissions set correctly (i think) and inheritance is turned off. The problem is that anyone can still get into the folder and write and delete files. I even created a new user and only put it in the Domain Users group, and I still have full control. Any ideas? And yes, I've removed the Everyone group from all parent folders and the folder itself. Thanks in advance.

you can try to use the $ and hide it from everyone. Then just map a drive for the group or user who uses this folder. You might want to check that the write and modify permission is not given out. Of course only the users who need to modify this folder should have the modify permisson. I am not sure if I understood the problem correctly but using the $ sign would keep everyone from seeing it.

Just an update. I went into the special permissions of the parent folder and noticed that someone (my boss) added a group that wasn't supposed to be there that had full control over the folder and child folders. I guess that's why his salary is double what mine is. Way of the world I suppose. Removed the group and everything is as restricted as it should be. Thanks for the advice.
