Windows 2K And Outlook Problem

On a machine I was looking at, when he types the first letter, the names in his contact book do not come up automatically. I cant find a setting for this to enable or disable. Any ideas why this isnt working?

Since this sounds like Outlook XP...

Do Tools/Options/Email Options/Advanced E-mail Options and look for "Automatic Name Checking". This needs to be checked. One other place to check is to open the address book and make sure the person's Contact and/or Personal Contact list is included.

That's as much as I know.

I don't believe it checks as you type, I think you have click in the mail body or subject line for it to check the email address even if name checking is on. This is for OL2000

The "automatically complete e-mail addresses as you type" is a new feature for Outlook XP. The only thing is that you've previously sent a message to the address.

Oh, also under the Options path I previously gave, check the "Suggest names while completing To, Cc, and Bcc fields check box". [Edit] This is the one that should do it, not the other one I mentioned.

I do see that now on my wifes machine, I will check this guys machine for that today and let you know, thanks! I didnt see it previously, probably missed it.

I'm glad they put that in XP.. it was a real pain in OL2000..
