Windows 3.1 And Linux Duel Boot

this may sound silly but i sort of like windwos 3.1 so i take the 20 gig drive i have and it only allows a 2 gig divide for win 3.1 and then they give you a few others i think i only got 3 others 3 2 gigs so about 8 is in limbo?

can it be used for linux from 2007?

 

That is some pretty old software you want to use together. When you install Linux it usually installs a boot manager of some type, like grub,lilo, and more that I cant seem to remember right now. That allows dual booting. But with software that old, Do a search for "Grub legacy". Read up about it and see if it is anything you want to tackle. I wish I was more help. Good luck.

 

i have a soft spot in my heart for older hardware and software. i would go for it. no real reason not to. it sounds like the computer is just for tinkering. 2007 sounds about right for the last time i installed a linux distro. from what i remember, boot the computer with a live disc, if it finds all of the internal hardware, then let it install on the hard drive, and it should automatically install a boot menu for you, so you can choose between win3 and linux. good luck with it.
