I have some PCs I have obtained at estate sales recently that are running Windows 7 and 8. I have done this before but it has been a long while. I believe I use to use Hirren's to reset or remove passwords but was curious if an easier and quicker method exists given the age of these OS. Likely not but wanted to check,

I do not think anyone on here will tell/show you how to do this. How to circumvent passwords is not what this forum is about. Now with that said, there is plenty of information on the web with a simple search. I am not meaning to sound harsh, I just dont think it is even allowed here.

DBAN the drive, and install a fresh copy of Windows. Done.

the mechanic, do you have a link to download Windows 7 and 8? That is much easier said than done because links to download older versions of Windows have disappeared. Also if Windows doesn't load, how does the OP find the serial number to be able to "activate" the Windows that came on the computer?

Some cases the "serial number" aka OEM product key is in the BIOS. There are places like the Internet Archive and Massgrave's Github to get install media.

During the install I'd wipe all the partitions and load Windows, not bother with doing a secure wipe. I'd only secure wipe it if I was selling the system or hard drive.

@curiouslywritten - Google and YouTube don't have the same standards as this forum.;) Like Alpha said.
Not like they would host anything like that: https://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/ease_of_access_replacer.html
