    Hello,

So recently my dell studio hard drive crashed and someone from dell replaced the hard drive. My laptop originally had vista on it so this new replaced hard drive came with vista installed. The problem since owning my laptop I upgraded to Windows 7, which I bought through a student discount and not through dell. So now I'm trying to figure out a way to obtain my Windows 7 key. I have an external hard drive which backed up a lot of stuff from my old hard drive. In particular I have a registry backup that was made after using CCleaner one time. I keep reading that you can obtain the serial keys from registry files but I haven't had success doing this yet. So, I guess my question is, is there anyway to get my windows 7 serial key either from this registry file somehow or possibly any other way.

--I also tried my email because I ordered it online but it seems my school email deletes emailed past a certain amount. Even though I thought I saved it it seems to be gone. Thanks for any help on my problem.
