    Hello everyone!

My friend asked me to look at this laptop for him. He's getting a blue screen when booting Windows- BSOD. The Blue Screen is attached (hopefully it works). The error is:

    DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

My friend told me his son held the power button down and forced the shut down DURING a Windows update. Since then he's been having this problem loggin on to Windows. I think it may have something to do with certain drivers not being properly installed during the install. I do have a second computer here with a flash drive, so I can get anything I need and transfer it to the questionable laptop.

Also, it logs in under Safe Mode, but not Safe Mode with Networking.

Also, when logged into safe mode I'm getting a popup explaining the error a bit. It says:

    Problem signature:
    Probem Event Name: Blue Screen
    OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.768.3
    Locale ID: 1033

    It worked!

It's extremely odd because I already tried to restore this computer, but I didn't do it the way you said. Anyways, thanks for your help!

As you were in safe mode, it helped bypass any niggle when trying it in the F8 recovery window.
Glad to see it solved it.
