    Hi all.

Im getting this BSOD crash when trying to update the nvidia motherboard drivers.

Also, in device manager i have the yellow! next to coprocessor.

I'm a total noob so if you could tell me what info you need in order to help that would be very much appreciated.

    Thanks

Operating System and version? Machine make/model and specs?
What is the STOP code? Any details on the error will help...

If you revert back to the previous driver, does the machine still BSOD?

Hi Thanks for the reply. The driver does not fully install, it gets about 50% of the way through the installation, BSOD's then restarts and its fine until I try to install the driver again.

    The specs are:

    Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit
    MSI MS-7374 Mainboard
Nvidia nForce 750a SLI SPP Chipset
    American Megatrends V3.9 BIOS
    AMD Athlon II X4 620 2.6MHz processor
    2 x 2gb DDR2 RAM
Nvidia GeForce GTS 250 1gb Graphics card

Stop code? there was a "problem signature" that popped up when the machine rebooted?

I hope this is what you were looking for, if you need me to post anything else let me know and I'll be happy to.

    Thanks again

OK, thanks. This new driver, where did you get it?

I would recommend using SlimDrivers to update drivers with. It will find the correct ones and do all the work for you.

The driver came from the MSI live update program which in turn came from the board manufacturers website.

Since posting this topic I have had these 3 beauties -

    Ok, Thanks.

Question: Does the machine behave normally after the driver install is aborted/rolled back? If so, I would suggest using SlimDrivers to get the correct one for your machine, you may have inadvertantly selected the wrong one.

    Also do this first:

Click the Start button, type CMD in the window and by right clicking, choose Run as Administrator.
At the command prompt type CHKDSK C: /F /R and press ENTER to scan the hard disk.
It will tell you that it will schedule a scan on the next restart, so restart and let it do the scan.

Then reboot without the driver you downloaded installed and let's see if you get a clean boot. From there, I would say use SlimDrivers to do any upgrade...
