Windows 7: Desktop Icons Flicker

    My desktop icons are constantly flickering to blank icons and back- at a rate of once per minute, or something very frequent. The icons flash to blank, then back to their former states.

    Any ideas?

    Also, I am running up-to-date AVG, I scan frequently, and am 99% certain I do not have any malware.

    Hi

    Have you updated to latest graphic card driver for your either onboard or addon card?

    Are you running any non standard themes?
    What software or drivers have you installed just before this happened?
    Does it happen in Safe Mode? (F8 at boot)

    Also check the connections to monitor and gfx card, unplug and plug back in, if desktop PC.

    Alright, it happens occasionally in the background, but also every time I close an explorer window. I don't know if this helps.
