Windows 7 Documents folder is pointing to somewhere else

Hi.

My niece has Windows 7. Recently she showed me her laptop and the Documents folder is pointing to somewhere else.

As can be seen in image 0 ~ the documents folder is empty.
As can be seen in image 1 ~ the documents folder is the TEMP folder.
As can be seen in image 2 ~ I found her documents under users in the C drive. There is a lock on it and it is read only. I unchecked the read only option and applied to all the items. But when that finished, the lock icon was still there.

I previously linked her folder to Documents but after a reboot it again pointed to TEMP.

What is the remedy?

Attachment shows how how my 'Libraries' are organized on Windows 7: under 'Documents' I find 'My Documents'.

Perhaps you could simply move the 'My Documents' folder from 'Temp' to 'Documents'?

If there are any important documents in there, I would advise a backup before proceeding.

Right click on the My Documents icon, then you can change the folder location to your choosing.

No, it is not a bug in windows, it is that something has dicked with that user's settings in their folder & the section of the Registry for that user.
