Windows 7 getting stuck at update screen

I have posted in the malware forum and have run all the cleaners recommended so i think the computer is clean.
When i shut down the computer goes to the windows update screen and gets stuck on 1 of 22,i have left it for 6 hrs so i know its stuck.
I have run the windows update fixer several times and still happening,i get error code 8007066F.I have googled the error code with no joy any ideas.

Thanks for the link,its not worked but it was worth a go.
I am at a total loss as to whats causing this issue,does windows seven have a built in recovery.I have done that with a vista laptop but as this computers not mine im unsure.

 

Thanks for the suggestion but they arent listed in the registry.
Cant even re-install windows 7 from the hard drive as the tool wont run.
