windows 7 hibernate problem

I have my pc set so that when i press the sleep button my pc goes into hibernation. I recently upgraded my pc from a 320gb faulty drive to a samsung 1TB drive. now that i have the larger hard drive my pc won't go into hibernation. the desktop goes off, screen is blank and then desktop comes back. can anyone help? thanks. please note that nothing has changed about the pc except for the hard drive.

Check your Power/sleep settings in control panel under Security to see if anythings changed. Also did you have to change any of the bios settings when you swapped the drives? Check your keyboard and mouse for sticky buttons.

Thanks for help. found out it had something to do with me re-imaging to a different make of HD. It must be some sort of microsoft antipiracy thing. after a lot of repetition i managed to reimage and then reinstall/upgrade windows and then reactivate it.

 

So, is hibernation working now?
