i am using windows 7 ultimate. i was able to use homegroup in my own house no problem to stream karaoke files. what i did was store my cdg and mp3 files on my server pc and installed karafun on my client side. i set the cdg files to open with karafun and everything streams nicely.

what i need to know is, is it possible to do this over the internet? i dont want to have to take a hard drive to my friends house all the time every time we want a karaoke. so if it was possible to stream over the internet it would save alot of hassell.

The simple answer is it is not worth the trouble.
Until Win7 gets a little further along stick with the basics IMO.

you could try using an ftp server on your home pc, and an ftp client on your friend's pc. But I don't think you would be able to stream it, you would be limited to just downloading. And depending on the upload speed of your internet connection, it wouldn't be very fast. Your best bet would be to get an external hard drive, and save all your songs to it (it's good to have a backup anyway) and just bring it over there.
