Windows 7-how can I manually arrange files within folders

    HI, can anyone tell me how I can manually arrange files within folders in windows 7 please? Thanks, Jan

    Thanks, have done that and it works fine. Use it to arrange pics the way I like them!
    However, now I have sorted them by date then named them so they have "name (1)" "name (2)" etc. Usually, they number from left to right across the screen but now they are numbered from top to bottom in rows! Any suggestions please? Jan

    Thanks for the reply. I have played about a bit and seem to have sorted them the way I want them but not sure how I did it! I agree that XP seemed an easier option. Really appreciate your help, and will check out the link you have sent. Jan :)
