    Bought new laptop.
    Installed windows 7 disc.
The next day, noticed that it was already pre installed. (didnt need to install)

Now ... Recovery C: (main drive?) Is full and no room for anything.

we have recovery c and E as drives?!?

Soo why recovery? How to get rid of? Cant seem to find a way to re format.

    Lookin' for a clue!

Would help if you mention the brand and model of the laptop so we can find out how to access the hidden recovery partition.

The Inspiron Zino comes in three models: 300, 400 and 410. Since I don't know which she has, I picked the one in the middle, 400.

Using Dell Factory Image Restore (from the pdf manual I downloaded)
    1. Turn the computer on and when the Dell logo appears, press F8 several times to access the Advanced Boot Options menu.
Note: if you wait too long and you see Windows starting up, allow windows to load, then reboot and try the above step again.
    2. Select Repair Your Computer.
    3. The System Recovery Options window appears.
    4. Select a keyboard layout and click Next.
    5. To access the recovery options, log on as a local user.
To access the command prompt (not something I think she wants at this point) type administrator in the User name field then click okay.
    6. Click Dell Factory Image Restore (on some computers, Dell Factory Tools needs to be selected before Dell Factory Image Restore).
    7. Click Next. The confirm data deletion screen appears.
    8. Click the check box to confirm that you want to continue reformatting the hard drive and restoring the system software to factory condition, then click next.
    9. Click Finish to restart the computer.
