Somehow, the x(close), minimize, and maximize buttons on all windows are not visible. If I rollover where they should be, a sort of disfigured button appears, but not what they are suppposed to look like. I don't have window fading on or anything like that; I'm not sure what has happened. Has this happened to anyone else?

    Greetings, Desidarius.

Quick shot: try pressing <F11>, see if the buttons reappear.

well it's not from being on fullscreen, when in full screen the buttons appear (when moused over), but when not in fullscreen they disappear, and have distorted, sort of outlined jagged edges of where they would be.

Driver issue, maybe? What kind of video card or onboard graphics are you running?

Couple of other quickies: you might try adjusting resolutions and refresh rates, just to see if there's any difference.

And, have you tried Safe Mode?
