I am new to W7 and am not very comfortable with it.
When I have more than 1 IE tab open the task bar it lumps them all together, is there a way to seperate them on the task bars so I get get to the tab I want in 1 click.
Also I can't seem to get the show desk top onto the task bar, I have tried methods found here and Youtube but they don't seem to work. I can get a shortcut into the start menu but the pin to taskbar option doesn't appear.

Is there a guide to W7 anywhere, I looked at Windows and it seems a bit more like a sales brochure than a how to use guide.

Have you done all your windows updates ? If so, your IE version should be version 9 .
I use Firefox and have no problems, but then again I do not like using tabs for browsing .
Just explore your options menus and you should be able to find the way to fix your problems .

I rarely use IE. Just click on the tab you want to focus on in the IE window instead of using the taskbar at the bottom. Or perhaps you mean you have more than 1 IE window open rather than more than 1 tab?

I see you're not familiar with some Win 7 features yet. Hover your mouse over the IE button on the taskbar. This should display preview images of your open tabs. You can select a tab there by clicking on the applicable preview/thumbnail view. You can even close a tab from there by clicking the small red x you see there.

In the lower right corner of your screen, you should see a vertically-oriented rectangular-shaped button. Hovering over it displays a preview of your desktop; clicking on it minimizes all windows so that you have normal access to the desktop.

Windows has nothing to do with the problems you are having with Internet Explorer. Windows 7 is no different than using XP or Vista. As for a guide, there is built in info in Help & Support, and on Microsoft.com, there is plenty of resources available.

The open tabs will stay with the program running on the taskbar, unless you go to Properties by right clicking in the globe at the left side, then click on the Taskbar Tab, and then click on the pull down for "Taskbar Buttons". That will allow you to either Always Combine, hide labelss, Never Combine, or "Combine when Taskbar is full". If you have Aero turned on, you can place the cursor over the Icon for IE in the Taskbar and it will pull up the various tabs you have open, then you can click on it.

Windows 7 made things even easier, than how it was with XP.
