    REDMOND, Wash., Feb. 3, 2009 — Last month Microsoft delivered the beta version of Windows 7 for public testing. From my beta testing of Windows 7 power users will be learning a LOT MORE to do the same things they did in XP. Simple things like :
    the date of last hard disk defrag (time someone finding this that has never done it in Vista);
    user permissions and groups (if sorting your music is easier than sorting your users there is something wrong);
    file sharing (related to users and permissions, but why does Windows Media Player ignore my permissions and share on its own?).
    View settings in Explorer cannot be locked, one accidental click changes them.
    These and many more are still obtuse.
    Each of these still need to be in one window with hierarchical menus in a logical fashion. Instead they require multiple windows and a bit of research to configure successfully.
    At least the casual users will have a better "user experience".
