I have files on my computer with the ending .ach which are associated with the program eSignal - so when I double click on an .ach file it opens eSignal. So far so good.

However when I double click on a second or subsequent .ach file it opens a completely new instance of eSignal - which I don't want. I just want the original instance of eSignal to be used each time

Is there anything I can do about this? Support at eSignal are unable to help.

Open the settings of eSignal and look for 'Allow Multiple Instances' or similar.

Unless eSignal has been written as a single instance program or offers that functionality in its settings, there's nothing you can do.

Thank you for your replies. I'm pretty sure there's nothing useful in the eSignal settings but I'll take another look. It's strange as when running on Windows XP I only get the one instance.

If you still have the XP computer, look at all the settings in eSignal and compare them to what Win 7 has for its settings.
