Windows 7 problem with naughty lady ads

My friend has a new computer and it has Win 7 loaded on it. I went to a site which I frequent at home -- http://www.thepiratebay.org -- and lo and behold there were banner ads on both sides of the screen depicting cheesecake come-ons for sites featuring ladies.

I have never seen these ads on my computer which runs XP sp3. I got home and tried to replicate what happened on her computer but cannot. I have tried turning off the popup blocker, etc. but to no avail.

My main problem is that I am unfamiliar with Win 7. Everything is different from XP and I think I need some help getting rid of these images so they don't appear.

Its a bit embarrasing when you are sitting there with a post pubescent teenage girl and her father and this thing pops up after I have told them that this is a site that I frequent.

What is different from XP to Win 7 that these things are getting through? I have tried going in through IE and Firefox and they both display the images. Neither browser displays the images on my computer at home, though.

Any, and I do mean ANY, help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    j

Hehehe, you want help on ThePirateBay?rolleyes Your friend must know this stuff quite well as they just opened up again! One doing naughty things should expect naughty things done to them.;) You obviously have better security. I'm out of this one.:)

Judgment aside, I tried my wife's notebook and she gets the ads displayed on her unit. Hers is running XP sp3 also. I compared the settings of the two computers and they were slightly different but setting hers to match mine has made no difference.

I sill need help. Any out there?

If you're using Firefox then install AdBlock as an add-on. That should sort it out.

    SOLVED

Thanks. Worked like a charm. I had adblockplus on my computer already. That's why they were not showing on mine.

My wife's computer loses the page formatting whereas mine did not. I'll find the workaround for that.

    Shot you an official thanks.
