My Computer is Windows 7 professional. I am on a domain in my company.
    My PC is Administrator.

When i try to update Windows then an error occurred.
It returns me the error Code 80072F8F. This error is for date and time but i can not understand why this error occurred. The date and time are correct.

My domain Controller is windows server 2008.

I installed another 3 PC's with windows 7 professional and they have the same problem so is not only my computer and seems the problem will be on my network and maybe have to do with the domain controller.

Please inform me if you know anything about this issue.

    Thanks for the help

    Hi,

Are all of the computers joined to the domain? If not, they will use time.windows.com by default for their time source instead of the domain controller.

Are they all in the same time zone, and is that time zone correct? From your post, it appears that all of the computers and the server are in the same location, so you should verify that they are all in the same time zone, including the server and you should verify that the server time is correct.

Once you've done that then the domain controller should act as the authoritative time source for the domain, and all of the clocks in the user computers should automatically set their time to that of the server.

Microsoft advises that you set the server to use its internal hardware clock:

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/816042

If you do this you are responsible for ensuring that the server time is accurate.

You can also use an Internet time server to set its clock. You can find a list of public NTP servers here:

    http://support.ntp.org/bin/view/Servers/WebHome

If you choose to go this route, you should use one that is closest to you, geographically, and use a Stratum 2 server instead of a Stratum 1 server.

Once done, all of your time-related issues should vanish.

    Regards,

    dj
